Attention Ladies, Fashionistas, Shopaholics, Movers, and Shakers,
I am here to tell all of you that the statement color I am seeing and wearing all over the place is RED. You can wear red any day, anytime, and any occasion. I picked out some of my fave pieces in the Red family that will have you looking on point every minute of everyday. Fall is the perfect time to wear such a statement color. Even if you think you can’t pull red off. I know you can still get yourself a fierce accessory. A handbag or a pair of shoes will keep you on point this season. No excuses not to be wearing this seasons HOTTEST hue.
Even my homegirl on my wall at the office is rocking her Red floral dress. She could stand to use some pigmentation in her skin or even a lil hair color. I really can’t judge because she is bringing it everyday to the office…

One of my fave editorial fashionistas is none other than the Senior Fashion Editor for Marie Claire, Zanna Roberts Rossi. Her take on cool girl chic is effortless. One of my favorite looks is when she was strutting her stuff during Fashion Week last year. Wearing an amazing full maxi skirt with a basic tee and kick-ass jacket really made for an exquisite shot of Zanna walking to a show. I went over to one of my go to shopping sites to pull an outfit from her inspirational shot.
I am not much of a thrill seeker these days. Don’t get me wrong, I have done my share of skydiving in New Zealand, surfing in Sayulita, Mexico and riding sand dunes in Arizona. However, this season I will be living in the fast lane through my clothes. If you are living the extreme life or simply wanting to just dress like it, I have the answer for you.
My inspiration mood board:
The key to this seasons sporty trend is to take one key piece and turn it into a day-to-night outfit.
For example, I found this amazing sporty Alexander Wang jacket to create a fun look for the office. I decided to keep the jacket the main event and add a pair of flat-front trousers, chunky platforms, and a mesh racer back tank. Keeping the color palette alive, I added a fun contrasting belt and a loud over-the-top necklace.
I came across this amazing surfer-inspired dress by Michael Kors and I wanted to play it up a bit. So, I paired it with a cotton-blend jacket and rolled up the sleeves for a more casual take, and pair with sandals and a fun bracelet. If I was out on the town wearing this little get-up, I imagine a hightop bun glossy lips and a sassy clutch.
Blue Jean Baby….
Chambray, denim’s lighter cousin, had an empowering presence for Spring. Designers like Thakoon showed multi true-blue fabrics, in tailored suits, dresses and other silhouettes. I am personally getting into the denim on denim action. The Candian Tuxedo is making a huge comeback and I for one is jumping full force onto that boat.
Look at this look from Thakoon. The vest and matching jean would look super cute paired with a blush colored blouse.
Here is a really cute denim dress by Rebecca Taylor that would be great for your spring wardrobe. wear this little number with a pair a wedges to bring a little Spring in your step.
I found a few inspiration photos of a few stylish ladies sporting the Canadian Tuxedo….
However you want to rock your denim for spring, know that you will be looking fierce and on trend.
What could be a better topic for Fall in Love Friday than the Farytale that is taking place today…
I have not been into the Royal wedding coverage the past few weeks. It has been royal overload. However, this morning when I was watching live coverage of the wedding and saw Kate come out in her McQueen wedding and I could not help but realize I was a little jelly….I mean, Here this common girl (no royal blood) landed her self a flipping Prince. I mean talk about every girls dream. I have been practicing my royal wave since I was 5. I HATE HER!!!!Not really. It is kind of cool realizing that I am the same generation as these kids and kind of an Epic thing that is happening today.
I was having a conversation yesterday with a few folks and one girl mentioned that “she would hate to be Kate’s sister” I chimed in and said, “I would rather be the cool hip sister with a party side, then be the Princess and have to be proper all the time”. Even though I would be amaze-ballz as a princess, thinking about it, being the hip sis in more my personality. I mean… will you ever hear Kate say “Amaze-Ballz?” didnt think so. I would not be a wild Paris Hilton slutty girl. NO, No, No!!!! I would be the coolest social-lite around town. Going to all the parties, being an activist to something interesting, Have my own fashion company. You all know me, You know I would be better as the cool sis then the stuffy Pricess. Will is not even 30 and he is already going bald. Looking like his father everyday. I would want to be dating a Futbal play like David Beckham. DUHHHHHH!!!!
Anyways, I wish those two the best of luck and hope that they are both happy, in love and doing it for all the right reasons.
Wearing nail polish goes in waves. I can rock my fave new color for weeks at a time and then there are days where I just do not have the time to sit, paint, and let it dry. With Spring here, I need to make sure I keep up with my bi-weekly Manni and Pedi. This is one thing I NEED to make time for.
I have discovered and grew into this new upcoming trend has been getting my attention. It is where you wear two similar but totally different colors on your nails. It kind of takes me back to when I was in junior high and just discovered how amazing nail polish was and I would paint each nail a different color.
Lately, I have been painting my thumb’s and ring finger’s Fiesta pink and the other nailsCoralCanyon(Both of these are found at my Fave nail polish site Essie). From far away you can’t really tell but when you look up close it is a totally noticeable.
I wore it out the other night and one of my guy friends joked and asked “if I ran out of nail polish?” I then mentioned that he had to look twice before making that silly comment.
I think as long as you keep it in the same color family and not do all black and one white. I found a few Celebrities jumping on my band wagon.
Have fun with it. It is not that huge of a commitment. If you don’t like it, grab nail polish remover and change it.
New York has been living up to the saying “April Shower will bring May Flower”. I have been over the rain we have been getting over here on the east coast. With May right around the corner comes sunshine and warmer weather. There for, I have been obsessing about the latest thing that I know is going to be everywhere this Spring.
Polka-dot’s are everywhere. I just bought a pair of cute TopShop polka-dot shorts for myself.
I found a few different looks that our favorite Celebs are rocking the PD. Anne is stepping outside the box and mixing and matching patterns, fabrics and is looking fresh. While Kelly O is a darling lady adding that the Rock n Roll appeal with her Leather Jacket.
Now look for yourself. Rather it be a cute dress, shoes, or shorts. You too can join in on one of this seasons funnest girly trends.
I found this cool Paul and Joe Dress that has the girly silhouette .
I also found these amazing Moschino Shorts from Net-a-Porter.com.
No matter how you rock the Polka-Dot look this spring, Just know that you are going to be on trend, fashionable, and fabulous.
